Kristen Personne
Kristen grew up in Mississippi. She started her orthodontic career in 2001, and she has worked with incredible doctors over the years in both Mississippi and Florida. She joined ICON Smile Studios when her family moved to Virginia in 2010. Kristen’s passion is people, and she loves that she gets to be a part of creating new smiles every day. She has two children, Jonathan and Tyler. Kristen loves adventure, being outside, and participating and competing in Spartan and any other obstacle course races.
Katy Hesler
Katy Hesler serves as the Director of Operations at Icon Smile Studios, bringing a passion for people and process improvement to every aspect of her role. Since joining the company in 2017, Katy has been dedicated to enhancing the patient and team experience through thoughtful leadership and a commitment to excellence.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Public Health, as well as a Master of Public Health in Health Management and Policy. With a strong foundation in health systems and organizational management, Katy thrives on creating environments where teams feel supported, empowered, and aligned with the company’s mission.
Katy’s approach is centered on collaboration, innovation, and making a positive impact—both inside the office and in the broader community. Her genuine love for working with people drives her to continually find ways to make things better, ensuring that Icon Smile Studios remains a place where patients and team members alike feel valued and cared for.
John Dermanis
John holds a BA in International Studies from Old Dominion University. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, learning languages, traveling annually to Greece, and cooking for and entertaining his family and friends. John is a Trivia buff, and he claims that no one can beat him at Jeopardy (so feel free to challenge him next time you’re in the office!) John is the proud uncle of two beautiful nieces, Asimina and Katerina.
