CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography)
At ICON Smile Studios, precision matters, and CBCT imaging allows us to see your oral structures in stunning detail. Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a type of 3D imaging that provides a complete view of your teeth, jawbone, nerves, and surrounding anatomy in a single scan.
Unlike traditional X-rays, CBCT captures cross-sectional, high-resolution images, giving our team the insight needed to plan everything from dental implants and root canals to orthodontic and surgical treatments with unmatched accuracy.
CBCT technology is especially valuable for:
- Implant placement planning
- Evaluating jaw joint (TMJ) issues
- Detecting impacted or missing teeth
- Diagnosing bone loss or pathology
The scan is fast, comfortable, and safe, using a low dose of radiation and is completed in under a minute. With this technology, we’re able to diagnose more accurately, treat more effectively, and minimize surprises during procedures — giving you a smoother, more confident care experience from start to finish.
Pan Ceph (Panoramic & Cephalometric Imaging)
Understanding the bigger picture of your oral health is essential when planning effective treatment — especially for orthodontics and jaw-related concerns. That’s why we use Pan Ceph imaging, a combination of panoramic and cephalometric X-rays, to capture detailed images of your entire mouth, jaw, and facial profile.
Panoramic Imaging
A panoramic X-ray provides a full view of your upper and lower jaws, teeth, and temporomandibular joints (TMJ). It helps us detect impacted teeth, cysts, tumors, bone irregularities, and wisdom teeth before they cause issues.
Cephalometric Imaging
A cephalometric X-ray shows a side profile view of the head, including the jaw, teeth, and soft tissue structures. This is especially important in orthodontic treatment planning, as it allows us to evaluate bite alignment, jaw growth, and facial symmetry — helping us develop a treatment plan that’s both functional and aesthetically balanced.
Together, Pan Ceph imaging allows our specialists to see the full scope of your dental and skeletal structure, so we can deliver accurate diagnoses and highly personalized care — whether you’re planning for braces, surgery, or comprehensive dental treatment.
iTero Scanner
At ICON Smile Studios, we’re committed to providing advanced care with modern, patient-friendly technology — and the iTero Scanner plays a key role in that experience. This cutting-edge intraoral scanner allows us to capture highly detailed, 3D digital impressions of your teeth and gums in just minutes, completely eliminating the need for traditional, messy impression trays.
With a small, comfortable, handheld wand, we can scan your entire mouth with precision and ease. The real-time images allow both you and your dental specialist to see a clear, highly accurate digital model of your teeth right on the screen. This instant visualization not only enhances your understanding of your dental health but also helps us design and customize treatments with pinpoint accuracy.
With the iTero Scanner, our team can:
- Capture highly accurate digital impressions for treatments like Invisalign, crowns, bridges, and veneers.
- Enhance patient communication by showing you exactly what we see, making it easier to understand your treatment options.
- Improve comfort and efficiency with faster scans and no sticky, uncomfortable impression materials.
- Track changes over time, allowing us to monitor your oral health with consistent digital records from visit to visit.
Whether you’re starting orthodontic treatment, planning cosmetic enhancements, or simply receiving a thorough evaluation, the iTero Scanner helps ensure your care is precise, efficient, and tailored to your smile.
CAD/CAM Technology
At ICON Smile Studios, we use CAD/CAM technology (Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing) to bring precision and efficiency to restorative and cosmetic dental care. This advanced digital system allows us to design and fabricate crowns, veneers, bridges, and other restorations with incredible accuracy — often in a single visit.
Using digital impressions captured by our intraoral scanners, we create a 3D model of your teeth and bite. From there, your restoration is custom-designed for a perfect fit and then milled in-office using high-quality materials. This process removes the need for messy impressions, temporary restorations, and multiple visits.
Benefits of CAD/CAM technology include:
- Faster turnaround times for crowns and restorations
- Exceptional fit, comfort, and durability
- Minimally invasive prep and improved patient experience
- Beautiful, natural-looking results
With CAD/CAM, we combine artistry and innovation to restore your smile with precision-crafted restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth.
3D Printing
We’re redefining the dental experience through cutting-edge 3D printing technology, giving our team the ability to create precise dental models, surgical guides, orthodontic appliances, and custom aligners — right here in our office.
3D printing allows us to produce customized dental solutions faster and more accurately, ensuring a perfect fit and streamlining your treatment timeline. Whether we’re planning for dental implants, orthodontic treatment, or surgical procedures, our in-house 3D printing system gives us complete control over the design and fabrication process.
What we can create with 3D printing:
- Orthodontic models and aligners
- Retainers and space maintainers
- Surgical guides for implants and extractions
- Nightguards and splints
This technology reduces wait times, enhances precision, and supports a more comfortable and convenient care experience. At ICON Smile Studios, 3D printing is just one more way we combine innovation with personalized care — delivering faster, smarter, and more seamless treatment.
Nitrous Oxide (Sedation)
We understand that visiting the dentist can be stressful for some patients — and that’s why we offer nitrous oxide sedation, a safe and gentle option to help you feel calm, relaxed, and comfortable during your treatment.
Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is administered through a small mask placed over your nose. Within minutes, you’ll feel more at ease, yet still awake and able to communicate with your provider throughout the procedure. Once your treatment is complete, the effects wear off quickly, and most patients can resume normal activities the same day.
Nitrous sedation is especially helpful for:
- Patients with dental anxiety or fear
- Children needing pediatric dental care
- Patients undergoing longer or more complex treatments
- Anyone with a strong gag reflex or difficulty sitting still
At ICON Smile Studios, your comfort and confidence matter. Whether you’re here for a routine cleaning or a complex procedure, nitrous sedation helps ensure your visit is as relaxing and stress-free as possible.
